OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization shall endeavor to promote and educate the community about the Hmong culture through socio-cultural events, exhibits, and community service. HSU shall also strive to provide its members with experiences in leadership and self-government as well as act as a resource and voice for the Hmong American students on campus.
WHO ARE WE?
We are a student run organization founded in 19xx. We exist to educate the FVTC community about our culture and traditions while trying to break the common misconceptions about our people. Our primary focus is to serve as a forum for Hmong students so that we may address any issues or concerns they may have while attending FVTC. Through our work, we hope to form friendships and serve as a support system for one another, as with any large university, the transition to college life and/or away from family, may be a difficult one. Lastly, being involved in HSU gives our members the opportunity to develop leadership skills, as although we are students, we are an organization as well.
OUR GOALS
To unite Hmong Americans students on campus.
To spread awareness and knowledge about our culture and heritage through educational programs.
To have a collective voice on campus.
